Today’s good thing tracks back to a chaotic Saturday in 2011. July to be exact.

This was what a street in Copenhagen looked like that day:

Following that storm, Copenhagen initiated a massive urban redesign. A redesign that has been encapsulated into the idea of turning the city into the world's first "sponge city," combining parks, underground tunnels and bioswales to handle floodwaters, effectively transforming the city into a modern model for climate adaptation.
