Much has been made, rightly and wrongly, of a fundamental issue confronting some renewable energy: intermittency. The sun sets, the winds abate. This has led to a lot of smart people and interesting experiments in the battery or energy retention area. That said, we’re happy to the following question in today’s Good Thing:

What if the solution to our energy battery headache wasn’t found in a high-tech lab or by using rare-metals, but actually could be found 2,000 feet below the ocean surface?
