Oh Look, Another Good New Battery
The technology and advancements in Energy storage continues to be amazing.
I recently read that the future of energy is “Solar and Storage.” This new breakthrough in the latter field seems to perpetuate that.
Liverpool is mostly known these days for its football (soccer) team, it’s also known for a little four man music group that (among a few other accomplishments) inspired the movie, Yesterday.
But hold onto your Fish and Chips, because scientists at Liverpool University have unlocked a potential game-changer in the quest for sustainable energy: a solid material that efficiently conducts lithium ions.
With the help of AI algorithms, our near term future could finally move off the inefficient liquid battery dynamic one to a solid-state version with increased capacities, non-toxic elements and whose weight and temperature needs are greatly reduced. This should drive drone, solar and electric vehicle performance.
