Magnus Carlsen is Good

And humble

Two aspects to today’s Good Thing.:

  1. Magnus Carlsen. He’s pretty much the greatest chess player ever. He’s reached a level of dominance in chess playing that defending a world championship became boring to him. Thus, he has renounced that title and moved onto other things. Other things like what he’s doing here, supporting up and coming chess players. fucking good that he got bored of defending his world championship every two years so he renounced his title and now he’s working on side quests. A side quest like overseeing the Tata Steel Chess India Festival 2024 where Bristy Mukherjee came in first place with a 7/7 score.

  2. In Hindu culture, touching someone's feet is a way of showing respect and seeking their blessings. Usually done to take blessings from elders but can also be done to someone you respect or admire such as teachers or idols. (In this case, a metaphorical mentor.
