For thousands of years, farmers across Asia have practiced a deceptively simple trick: instead of treating a rice paddy merely as a flat field of dirt, they treat it as a living, breathing, tiny ecosystem. They put fish in it.

Yep. It’s true. Well before they enter the kitchen or are served on a place, fish and rice go together swimmingly well (pun!). So well, that the combination may be a strong tool in fighting disease and infection.
