TL; DR:

Eggs are prevalent now and the chickens who lay them are treated better and healthier. This is a massive win all around. In almost every way of evaluating, from nutritional to commercial eggs are more abundant and available.

Eggs are a powerhouse. A single large egg contains about 6 grams of high-quality protein and all 9 of the essential amino acids that the human body cannot produce on its own.

List time! Eggs:

  • Are crucial for building and repairing tissues

  • Support immunity systems

  • Help maintaining muscle mass.

  • Are rich in vitamins A, D, E, and B complex (particularly the nefarious B12, which is vital for nerve function and red blood cell formation.)

  • Contain important minerals such as selenium, zinc, iron, and phosphorus.

Beyond those nutrients, eggs also offer some unique health benefits. The yolk delivers an relatively outsized portion of antioxidants and vitamin D, which is essential for bone health and immune function.

Eggs are, in short, good stuff.
