Today’s bit of good news is a feel good video.
You don’t need man when a good dog will do.
Earlier this month on the frozen waters of Arbutus Lake in Michigan, a 65-year-old Traverse City man was rescued after falling through the ice.
Shortly before noon bystanders saw the man <name withheld> disappear into the frozen waters with his dog frantic and nearby. 911 was called and quickly Officer Kammeron Bennetts responded to the call.
As you can see all the rescue needed was some quick problem solving and the good dog, Ruby. You see, the ice was too thin for the policeman to get close to the man, so they kinda played reverse fetch, with Ruby taking a rescue disk and returning it to the owner

The police report reads:
"Ruby ran to MCO Bennetts. MCO Bennetts attached the rescue disc to Ruby’s collar and told the man to call his dog. Ruby ran back to his owner with the rescue disc. MCO Bennetts instructed the man to take the disc from Ruby and start kicking his legs,"
MCO Bennetts was assisted by a firefighter with the Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department as they pulled the Traverse City man to safety.
Great doggie! The best!
