We had a nice response to a similar video earlier this week, so we’re doubling up on ice rescue.
This one comes from the frozen outdoors of La Barge, Wyoming where is was a brisk -14 degrees when three men came across an exhausted Elk stuck in a snowbank and not-moving.
A few points to prepare you for this lovely video:
EVERYONE is exhausted by the end of the video, from the Elk (who basically collapses) to the two men who are breathing very heavily. Understandably so, all around.
Note how the Elk is pretty wary of the men, even as they are attempting to help.
Unfilmed, but annotated at the end is that when the men returned later the Elk had recaptured his/her strength.
Thankfully the Elk was a pretty young one, they can get up to 600 pounds in adulthood.
